Healthy Hooves Molasses Free is a nutritional balanced blend of soft cereal straw with chopped and pelleted alfalfa, specially formulated for horses and ponies prone to laminitis, good doers and those in light work. Low in calories at 8.5 MJ/kg of digestible energy, it contains no added sugar at just 2.5% and is very low in starch at 1.5%, providing controlled energy without excess. A light rapeseed oil coating supplies slow-release energy and promotes a healthy coat, while garlic helps tempt fussy feeders.
To support hoof strength and joint health, it includes MSM, a bio-available source of sulphur essential for bonding keratin fibres and maintaining hoof hardness and flexibility. The addition of MSM increases sulphur levels by around 30% compared to typical low-calorie forage feeds. It is also rich in B vitamins, including biotin at levels shown to improve hoof quality, delivering 15mg per day to a 500kg horse when fed as recommended.
Enhanced with increased levels of key trace minerals, including chelated selenium, copper and zinc for improved bio availability, Healthy Hooves Molasses Free helps counter reduced mineral levels often found in lower-calorie formulations. When fed at the recommended rate of 500g per 100kg of bodyweight, it provides a fully balanced diet to support overall health and long-term hoof integrity.
