Natural Meadow Cobs are made from a rich blend of up to 60 species of meadow grasses, wildflowers and herbs, harvested from the perennial meadows of the Bavarian Pre-Alps in southern Germany. High in fibre yet low in sugar, starch and calories, the mature plants are coarsely chopped, high-temperature dried using renewable energy and pressed into chunky cobs. This natural, aromatic forage alternative supports healthy digestion and provides a wholesome, sustainable source of fibre for all horses and ponies.
TARGETED AT:
"
- Any horse who would benefit from additional grass in their diet
- Fussy feeders, especially poor forage-eaters, who need a tempting additional fibre source
- The sick or dentally-challenged who require a full forage replacement
"
Composition: 100% Meadow Grasses & Herbage.
Feeding Recommendations:
"
- Soaking: Mix 2 parts water to 1 part cobs (e.g. 2 scoops water with 1 scoop cobs). Soak for 30 minutes in warm water or up to 1 hour in cold water. In cool weather they can be soaked overnight. Always make sure cobs are fully soft before feeding.
- Feeding Amounts: As full forage replacement, feed 1.5-2kg per 100kg bodyweight (dry weight) per day. As a partial forage or feed addition, feed 0.5-1kg per 100kg of bodyweight (dry weight) per day. Split the total amount into several small meals through the day.
- Balanced diet: Natural Meadow Cobs don’t contain added vitamins or minerals, so feed them alongside a suitable mix, cube or balancer.
- Other notes: You may feed a few cobs as dry treats, but they should otherwise always be soaked before feeding.
